Florence Amaikwu CRNP PMHNP-BC is a board-certified Psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with more than17 years of clinical experience. She is licensed in the state of Maryland. Florence is a graduate from Coppin State University with BSN and Masters’s in psychiatric Mental health from Walden University. She has worked as a clinician both in outpatients and telehealth services. She cares for children, adults, and the geriatric population. Florence is passionate about reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness. Understands how much effort it takes for one to seek help and ready to help not only with medication but develop individualized care to anyone who comes her way. Florence has extensive experience working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, grief, loss, PTSD, personality disorder, sleep disorder, substance, and addiction.

  • Monitors crisis clients to stabilize patients’ condition in order to prevent patients from harming themselves or others and uses short-term crisis intervention techniques and/or referrals to other support services to support patients and families dealing with issues of grief, loss, disability and traumatic lifestyle changes.
  • Develops implements, oversees and follows-up with client treatment plans to ensure that realistic goals and deadlines of accomplishments are being met.
  • Facilitates admission process for patients entering an inpatient level of care.
  • Demonstrates ability to utilize and teach appropriate behavior management techniques. Assesses patients for indications of abuse and take appropriate actions.
